I am a somewhat middle aged, happily married woman who was ready for something “new” to do with my life. After the company I did data work for closed (July 2009) and not wanting to go back into an office or retail job I had finally decided on something I can do that I enjoy. This blog! It will help me to not write the cookbook I’ve been talking about for a while now! This is much easier than writing a book! I am getting to know so many fellow bloggers who have incredible sites! It’s fantastic all the food out there! In March 2012 I finally had to actually get a real job again. I worked for a company in West Palm Beach. Being it was a regular job I had less time to write my blog so it isn’t being published as much as before. Then in 2017 I was laid off and had a couple temporary jobs but finally found steady work again in 2018. It’s been a rollercoaster for sure.
I live in Hobe Sound, FL with my husband John and we are now petless. Gus left us in July 2017 and Toonces in January 2012, we miss them both so much. We have lived here in sunny Florida since November 2000. We are Long Island, NY natives and that part of us will never change. We do not regret moving down here one bit though! What’s to regret? Sunshine and warm temps (most of the time) and no snow to shovel or ice to scrape! Ok an occasional hurricane or two (this is getting tiresome now with 5 in the last 13 years!) shows up but they are rare. Not freezing while putting up Christmas decorations is always a good thing!
I do not have any children of my own but I do have a stepson (John) who made me a grandma back in 2008! Unreal! I have 8 nieces and 3 nephews! They are all beautiful, talented, smart and wonderful and range in age from 8-25. Needless to say they keep us all busy!
Whenever we get a chance John and I love to travel. We’ve taken many cruises and love exploring any chance we get. A favorite place is the family house up in Naples, Maine. We even traveled for our April 2004 wedding in Las Vegas! Cousins Linda and Kim were there to share in the occasion! Another adventure! We love the laid back lifestyle and may even move to Latitude Margaritaville in the Daytona/Ormond Beach area in the near future!
So besides travel, I love to cook (and eat) as you will see. I try to make new recipes as much as possible! The only thing I do not like about cooking is cleaning up!!
So enjoy the blog and feel free to comment! Let me know if there are any recipes you want to see and I will do my best to get them on here! Thanks again and mangia!
you love soup so much why don’t you marry it !!! hahahaha!!
